Heather's first day of School

August 19, 2009

Looking Good! Heather picked out her shirt "I love recess" Her teacher is really nice. She plays CCR and Beatles during down times so Heather comes home singing songs from the 70's. Not my favorite, but Kurt likes it.

As you can see her backpack is HUGE. I am impressed she could walk. The amount of stuff I had to buy her was insane. I miss Utah where the teacher buys the supplies.
Very Cute!

Elich Gardens, Denver

July 24, 2009
View from on top of the ferris wheel

Danae and her family came to visit for the weekend. It was so nice to have them and we had fun.
Elich Gardens is Denver's amusement park. It used to be owed by Six Flags, but now is owed by some rich guy. We went for the day, it was sooo hot and felt bad that we forgot our swimming suits since the park had a water park as well. Kurt and Braden went on all the scary rides and we watched the kids ride the little ones.

Jordan, Tanner Wood with cousins Lauren and Heather

Bumper Cars
Lauren really like them at the beginning and then after a few bumps she got pretty upset. It was fun to have a ride that everyone could play together.

Tanner bumping Heater, or is it the other way around?

The Wood Family: Mike, Tanner, Braden, Jordan and Danae

The vons: Alexis, Megan, Heather, Kurt and Lauren

So it was so hot. We wanted to go on a wet ride to cool us down. There was one that you rode a raft and went through lots of rapids but the line was really long. So we decided to do this shipwrecked ride. No line. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY CLUE!!! Anyway Danae, Mike and Braden said no way and watched Alexis for us and Kurt and I took everyone else on the ride. Lauren saw the foreshadowing and started to cry before we even started the ride. It was the boat that drops (which was fun) but then there is this crazy big wave that SOAKS you after you drop. We were soooo wet. I felt better, but it took a while for my shoes to dry.:) here are some photos.
After we had the wave

Lauren was mad. I think she felt betrayed that he parents would put her through such a thing. It was so cute to see her mad and drenched at the same time.

Jordan soaking wet

Megan Shooting balls at the kids and Danae. What a menace.

This was a fun ride. They take you up to the top and then release you a little and you fall then it stops and then drops you a little more over and over again. So it is like you are jumping. I think they rode that ride more than any other.

Yo yo Swings

The kids are in the back of the roller coaster. Jordan has his hands up.

Lauren in the ferris wheel. Kurt's side, and my legs. Woohoo.

Tanner and Alexis in Denver. Tanner was soooo helpful always doing things and being mindful of what I needed. It was exhausting after he left, cause I had to start doing everything again!!

Lexie no likey

Aug 2009
So this is the face Alexis gives when she doesn't like the food I gave her, or what we are doing. She is a total pouter, but it is sooo cute I can't be tough on her.
Look at that face!!!

Pool Party at our House!

Aug 2009

So this pool was given to me by my sister Becky for Lauren when she was little. Our other pool got popped and so I took this out for wading and all the girls got in and stayed in. It was like a jigsaw puzzle getting all body parts in the pool.

Heather, Lauren, and Alexis

Alexis getting a drink. She does this in the tub too.

Camping at Brainard Lake, CO

July 2009

So we went camping about an hour from our home at Brainard Lake. It was beautiful. We didn't document anything but the lake, so no tent or food pictures. We didn't make a reservation, so we drove camp ground to campground trying to find a spot. None. We ended up finding a site up a state road that allowed free squaters campsites. SO we found a flat spot and camped. It was fun. Much colder than Moab camping. Poor Lexie ended up in my sleeping bag and I ended up with Lauren because my mummy bag was not big enough for me and a baby. It was really cute in the middle of the night, Lauren woke up to me right there in her face, and she, in a sleepy state, said this sleeping bag is made for two. And then fell promptly back to bed. It didn't have bathrooms or a table, so for each meal we would drive up to the lake. There were tons of fishermen and a lot of hikers to go up to the glacier.
Here is Kurt and Lexie in our favorite pose

Can you believe the view? Lauren can't. (zoom in:)

New Family Photo, you may see this again coming Christmas.

So in the middle of the Lake was a HUGE boulder that we all climbed on. It was fun but the water was soooooo cold. Jumping the rocks, your feet were numb and then you had to warm them up before climbing. Glacier Lakes are cold, this one much more than bear lake in Utah.

Kurt's Birthday

July 2, 2009

So we have finally come to the end of our marathon of birthdays. Sad, but we are ready to be done with cake! So much so that Kurt ordered Cheesecake.

So this airplane is to represent the indoor sky diving class I got Kurt. He gets to pretend to sky dive and get the feeling, but I don't have to stress over losing my husband. WIN-WIN.
He got a movie and a CD as well, but he is looking very "I should have asked for cash...." Doesn't he???

Much happier when his cake was ready. I bought this organic candles that each glows a different colors. It was cool. IT is always fun to buy little things like that for Kurt because he likes to figure out how they work.

Kurt making a wish. HOLD ON TO THE TABLE LAUREN!! He has got a set of lungs!

What a good daddy! We are getting ready to go to south denver for Sky Diving. Afterwards we met up with Kurt's old roomate who has a birthday on the 1st and had dinner. I had a blast and I hope the birthday boy did too.

Don't you just love a man in uniform?? And to boot, it is his favorite color. How often does that happen??

Up next....

Kurt with his teacher.

Kurt's first time. He had a 20 min class before, but I think he did really well. You can see he smiling, that is a good sign right??

Here is his second time. He is a quick learner. He picked up spinning pretty fast.

One last video. It is a little long, but it shows off my cool husbands moves!

Playing with Blocks

June 29, 2009

This is a video of the girls playing blocks. When I watched it I was inpressed at how well all of got along and were talking to each other. NOT TYPICAL!:) Anyway you can hear all our voices. The niceness doesn't even last the whole movie, but at least I have an archive of one time when we all got along. This is a memory I want to store. Kurt is fliming and I am making dinner.

Alexis 1st Birthday

June 29, 2009Alexis bright and early on her day. She liked playing with the balloon. More than her other gifts. At least it wasn't the wrapping paper like at Christmas. Maybe next year she will like the gifts instead of the party decor.

Its my birthday I can cry if I want too. Alexis didn't want to to open presents. We had to coax her into it and then once she saw there was good stuff inside she was all for opening.

Alexis got a baby scrapbook that is soft and has spots for pictures of her. And then she got soft blocks for building. Her favorite thing was to knock over Heather and Lauren's creations. I let her get away with it since it was her day.

She did more chewing then building.

Godzillis (Godzilla + Alexis) Heather's little village didn't stand a chance! (note: This is where you should be laughing Megan thinks she is very witty)

Alexis caterpillar cake.

When we lit the candle Lexie kept trying to grab it. Both my kids have no fear when they should!! When we were in Moab Lauren kept climbing on cliffs and saying " Don't worry mommy I won't fall." Ahhh! I have to always be on my toes. Heather on the other hand, we have to push into doing stuff. She is getting much braver though!:)
Yum! The birthday girl is enjoying her cake. We got a lot of it these two weeks. Grandpa's brithday, Lauren's, Alexis' and then Kurts!! Whew!
