I am trying to film and vacuum at the same time. Which is why she keeps stopping to look at me. She also walks around the house babbling into the phone. Just like mommy. My girls WORSHIP their dad so much that it is nice to have them copy me every once and a while.

Just like Mommy
So you know how little boys follow their dad's around with his toy lawn mower while the dad uses the real one? Check this out.

Happy 28th Birthday Megan

So for new Years we went to Utah to visit family. Which is great for me, since we travel on my birthday everyone makes me a cake!:) Which I don't get unless I make my own at home. We were at Becky's the weekend before and then spent the night of my birthday at Kiels and Krisi's. Holly von bought me a turtle ice cream cake. Mmmmm. Delicious. Kurt told her what flavor and I was so impressed that he knew! The night before at Becky's she made me a cake with pink frosting my favorite. I felt like a princess! Kurt got me a food processor, so we are cutting up potatoes in 3 seconds or less. It is great!
Lexie really like Lauren's sleeping bag. So cute.
Maren, Becky, Ella, and Megan
What a great big sister! I had eight candles (I think) and blew them all out but one! So close to my wish
They had to sing to me twice, since the first time Lauren was no where to be found. I had to make her come to my party. Last year, I have a pictures of her crying on my day. Those of you who follow my blog should remember!Thursday, January 14, 2010
Christmas Morning – Presents.
We had a great Christmas. The girls were really happy with their gifts and it id so fun to have kids at Christmas. Kurt got tools to work on the house, and I got tickets to see Riverdance. Which we saw after Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures. We had presents out under the tree before Christmas and had to keep a watchful eye on Lexie. I caught her a few times opening them. She couldn't understand that now she COULD open presents. It took a little coaxing, but then she got the hang of it.
Christmas Morning
Christmas Eve - Night
On Christmas Eve, we tried something new. We had our big dinner that evening. It was fun, since I could take off on Christmas. Yes, it was wonderful and I am instigating this new tradition. We had the Ham dinner by candlelight and Lauren kept asking whose birthday it was. I tried to explain ambiance. I think she got it. After dinner we had a small program. We read the Christmas story and acted it out with Puppets. Then we played the present game. I read this idea in a Family Fun mag. and really liked the idea. The girls got gift bags and picked something in the house to give to the other person. When we were ready, we exchanged gifts. Whosever turn it was they said thank you for being handed a gift and then when they opened it they had to say one good thing about it. Like "Oh, blues my favorite color," or " That will be fun to play with" Anyway the girls had fun finding funny gifts and the highlight was Heather's banana she gave to Kurt. I think it helped the girls be more grateful on Christmas morning.

Christmas Eve - Sledding
We were lucky to have a white Christmas and because of that we got to start a new tradition of sledding on Christmas eve. We went to the local high school and saw half our ward! We did the slow gradual hill for a while and then Megan thought it would be fun to go on the short steep one. Another family was leaving, and they had made jumps for this crazy hill. Bad IDEA! The girls had fun, but us older adult's bodies couldn't take it. Kurt did the hill first to made sure it was safe, but because he was the one person on a two person sled, he biffed it on his back right after the jump. Ouch. He pulled it together and took the girls, which worked much better with the weight spread out. My problem was trying to get back up the hill. It was steep, slick and I had CRAPPY walmart boots. So I would get half way and then BOOM, down I would go back to the bottom. The extra problem was that I had to tote the girls up with me since they couldn't do it themselves. Fun times. We were so tired, which came in handy later that night when it was bedtime.
Alexis is sardined between Lauren and Kurt. She loved it! She looked just like the Christmas Story little brother. " I can't pu tmy arms down"
Lauren and Kurt. My Camera lens kept closing, so I had to hold it open with my finger, which is what that blob is in the corner. It looks as though Kurt and Lauren are about to hit some freaky thing.
