The city we live in has a two day night celebration right before Christmas for the kids it is so fun. The first night we had sleigh rides, hot chocolate as we walk through the park to see the lights. The indoor activities are all these art projects for the kids to get ready for Christmas and you can sit on Santa's Lap as well. The next night they have a holiday parade all made in Christmas lights. I didn't take any pictures of the floats though. Oops. Also a few days before we went to a community ice show where a lot of little kids and instructors preformed. It was a great week and free, which always makes it better!

This is Max from the Grinch who stole Christmas. Right?? Do you see the resemblance with the one horned reindeer Alexis is sporting?

Everyoone is front of the reindeer display. They also gave out ziplock bags filled with oats and glitter that we spread over our lawn to coax the reindeer into stopping at our house.

Ward Christmas Party

We took these pictures with Santa at our Ward Christmas Party. Alexis would have nothing to do with Santa, so Kurt had to help.

Heather recognized our Santa right at first. (He is a good friend of ours that is over a lot). So it took some coaxing that he would deliver her list to the real Santa.
Lauren on the other hand hugged him right away and told him she loved him. It was really cute. We got the half hug on camera.




This following picture will be familiar if you get our Christmas card. It should come over New Years! Anyway it didn't look fuzzy so I sent it out and then discovered that it was FUZZY so hopefully you can make each of us out.:)

Pictures of the House

Here are the long awaited pictures of the House. We would have posted pictures earlier, but I (this is Kurt) have been working to fix all the junk that is wrong with the house so I have not even plugged my computer in until now. So I finally downloaded the pictures off the camera and will post them today.
Don't expect much text... its taken all the energy I have just to get the pictures on this blog.


Here is the Basement:










This is the sump-pit that I had to cap to try to reduce the amount of radon in our basement. Evidently, if you have too high of radon levels its like smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day. Frankly I think its a ploy to scare people into paying $900 for someone to cap your sump-pit for you. I did it for about $50 in parts.




Here is the 900 sq/ft crawl space: I have to figure out what to do with this waisted space. This was the one sad thing about the house. I have more crawl space then I have basement.

I made this book shelf with my bare hands... and then I messed up on it so I gave it to Megan... she painted it black and ignores my imperfections.

I made this doll-house shelf as well. It was not that hard and I also made one for Heather and Alexis. It does cost $50 in bare materials, but considering they want $400 at Pottery Barn, I like my $50 doll-house.

And I made that book shelf with my bare hands... and a saw... and some screws... and stain and lacquer. I felt very "Happy" after I finished this book shelf... I am not sure if the unventilated basement full of lacquer had anything to do with it.

This is the garden that I transplanted from the old house to our new house. As you can see... it didn't quite make the transplant.



Here is a small man-made pond in our yard. I am not sure what strange creatures live in the pond, but I just keep hoping I will see Nessie (The Lockness Monster) poke his head out for a look at the new owners of this house.
